RIDGE POINT PANTHERS In recent years, Ridge Point has been the undisputed favorites of Fort Bend ISD, in regards to their football and volleyball programs. Under the direction of coach Rick LaFavers, RPHS claimed their fourth-straight undefeated district title on the gridiron, which was followed up by a trip to the UIL-6A-I Area Round. The laundry list of returning stars includes the reigning District Offensive MVP Austin Carlisle (Houston-commit), first-teamers Dane Jones (TCU), Hugh Smith (Jr. OL), Bryson Webber (Nebraska) and Romaire Smith (Jr. DL), as well as second-team selections Jack Ward (Sr. LB), Avery Morcho (Jr. OL) and Jordan Burnett (Jr. OL). The volleyball team welcomes Louise Crite as the new head coach from Katy Taylor. She’ll have more than enough talent to work with, as District MVP Kennedi Rogers (SMU-commit), Aaliyah Smith (Rice), Jayden Robinson (Nebraska) and second-team honoree Addison Menefee each make their return. The Panthers cross country program will look to build on a strong performance from the 2023 District Meet, with Corey Labbe, Emilie Gibbs, Jared Goodwin and Sarah-Catherine Chapman leading the way. In the pool, both water polo teams should only see improvement as the sport gains more recognition.
