ELKINS KNIGHTS This Fall will be one of retaliation for the Knights. Starting on the volleyball court, coach La’Kyva Bason’s girls were denied a trip to the playoffs a year ago, despite concluding the regular season with a record of 21-14, which should have them fired up for a comeback. Junior QB Romin Seymour is back to command the EHS offense on the field, with Jaden Reed (Sr. ATH), David Anigbogu (Sr. LB) and Jordan Mitchell (Jr. DB) being among the handful of additional returning weapons for coach Trae Grimes to utilize. Elkins XC enters 2024 on the heels of reaching the UIL-6A Regional Meet, and look to repeat that effort with Zainab Abwar, Zachariah Morin and Jadyn Acuna headed back to the trails following exemplary performances at district. The tennis program, led by coach Deborah Jackson, will feature a heavy supply of seniors, while the Knights water polo team looks to build on their silver finish from a year ago.
