Cogent Bank Launches Sports and Entertainment Banking Vertical ̨̪̪̬

C ogent Bank, an Orlando-based, full-service business and personal community bank, announced the launch of its Sports and Entertainment Banking vertical. This newest vertical aims to provide young athletes, both collegiately and professionally, with the financial literacy education and banking resources necessary to preserve their wealth in an often unpredictable, challenging industry. Cogent Bank’s people-first approach to financial services will provide the customized approach to banking necessary to preserve, maintain and grow their clients’ portfolios. “Many young athletes come from underserved, impoverished communities and are not used to

the amount of money sports can provide,” said Brandon Ghee, SVP, managing director of Sports & Entertainment Banking. “Cogent Bank will serve to arm players with the knowledge and resources to protect their money as they continue their career in sports and entertainment.” Ghee, a six-year NFL veteran, including time with the Cincinnati Bengals and Tennessee Titans, will provide firsthand experience and extensive industry knowledge to support Cogent Bank’s efforts to benefit athletes in banking relationships founded upon ethics and trust.

The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company Supports SWFL Children’s Charities with Sponsorship of Wine and Food Fest

C elebrating its 16th year, the 2024 Southwest Florida Wine and Food Fest, held in January, was sponsored by The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company. The annual event took place on Friday, January 19, at various private venues across the region and Saturday, January 20, at Suncoast Arena at Florida SouthWestern State College. The Wine and Food Fest is the fundraising arm of SWFL Children’s Charities, Inc., which supports programs at Golisano Children’s Hospital and scholarships for students attending Florida SouthWestern State College and Florida Gulf Coast University. This year’s event raised more than $2 million to support Golisano’s new outpatient surgery center located on the HealthPark campus in Fort Myers. “We are proud to support the Southwest Florida Wine and Food Fest, an event that aligns with our values of community enrichment,” said The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company Founder and Chairman S. Albert D.
