Name: Anthony DiMarco Title: Executive Vice President of Government Affairs At FBA since: 1998 Education: Emory University, Atlanta, and Loyola University of New Orleans School of Law Hometown: Tampa, Florida

Describe your role for the FBA. As the EVP of Government Affairs, my role is to lead our Government Relations team as we promote our members’ interests in Tallahassee. This entails not only advancing beneficial legislation, but also stopping harmful legislation and amending unintended consequences in other legislation. My “day in the life” changes depending on the time of year; there are many hours spent in the Capitol during Session and legislative committee weeks. At other times, I am working on legislation, meeting with legislators and candidates for the next election, raising money for BankPac or delivering BankPac contributions to candidates, or coordinating events with our members and elected officials. My life basically moves on a two-year election cycle all the while coordinating with our GR team, the other great FBA staff, and our members and FBA volunteer leadership. Favorite thing about the FBA? Our office camaraderie and the challenge of the Session.

What’s your favorite team? I root for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in all sports, and the Tampa Bay Rays, Bucs and Lighting. How do you spend your free time? I love to spend time with my wonderful wife Mary Rose, our three children Frank, James and Mary Joy, our two dogs, and our friends. I also like to read and listen to a wide variety of music, however, it’s mainly classical. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? I have been blessed to visit many places in the United States and the world, but I would like to visit the Galapagos Islands one day. What’s something you want to learn? How to speak fluent Italian.
