According to Sprout Social’s 2024 Content Benchmarks Report, consumers rank video as the content format they most want to see on social media, more so than GIFs, memes or text-only content. Dan Allocca, partner at integrated communications firm Prosek Partners, said, “[Video] allows banks that aren’t big names with massive budgets to lean into what makes them different.” Video allows for scale, and it can be an effective tool for explaining financial concepts to
customers. It’s also a great medium for telling stories and forging emotional connections. The Sprout Social report notes that short-form videos (15 to 30 seconds) rank at the top of consumers’ content wish lists. The report also found that engagement is higher when employees are part of the video; 48 percent of consumers like to see front-line employees in brands’ social content.
