Capitol Day + Capitol Night 50 TH ANNUAL

T he FBA’s 2024 Capitol Day + Capitol Night event was a success. More than 100 bankers joined us in Tallahassee to advocate for our industry at the capitol. Capitol Day began in the morning with an in-depth Government Relations Council meeting that included discussions about state and federal legislative issues including ESG, IOTA, and public deposits. Bankers then attended a luncheon with keynote speaker Andrew Wiggins , Senior Director of the Political Affairs & Coalitions Advocacy at the Florida Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, there were small-group appointments with members of the Florida Legislature.

Bankers also heard from Christine Ashburn , Vice President of Communications, Legislative and External Affairs at the Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, Adam Basford , Vice President of Governmental Affairs at Associated Industries of Florida, Terry Hughes , Bureau Chief of Bank Regulation at The Florida Office of Financial Regulation, and Representative Robert Brackett . Our busy day lobbying on the Hill was followed by Capitol Night, a time of fellowship and networking for bankers, legislators, staffers and vendors over a delicious dinner at FBA’s headquarters.
