T he Florida Bankers Educational Foundation (FBEF) is working on ways to help today’s bankers, while also focusing on the future needs of our members. FBEF provides financial assistance to bankers who wish to advance their career through education. The

ICBA/FBA-endorsed graduate school of banking. In addition to offering these benefits to current FBA members, the FBEF is looking at ways to engage with future Florida bankers. We know recruitment is an important issue since the future of the industry depends on the banking workforce in the years ahead.

FBEF Scholarship Program offers funding to bankers seeking to complete their college degree at one of the FBEF Participating Colleges and Universities, which includes 56 public and private schools throughout Florida. The FBEF also offers financial assistance through the FBEF Career Development Program to eligible bankers who do not have full financial support from their employers, but who wish to continue their education at the FBA School

The FBEF Board recently sent a survey to the FBA membership about promoting careers in banking, and every single respondent agreed FBA should help encourage students to make banking their career. We appreciate the feedback we received, which will help us work on ways we can continue to support the bankers of today while helping to recruit the bankers of tomorrow.
