his banking journey at Southeast Bank in 1980. He then moved to Eastern National Bank in 1986, significantly expanding its loan portfolio to over $350 million. In 1998, Iglesias became executive vice president and chief lending officer at Colonial Bank, overseeing three counties and growing the loan portfolio to over $2 billion. Joining Bank United in 2003, he climbed to senior executive vice president, managing a $1.5 billion portfolio. In 2009, he assumed the role of president and CEO at JGB Bank. Later, in 2013, Iglesias joined Professional Bank as executive vice president and chief lending officer, rising to president and CEO in 2015. Under his leadership, it became the 6th largest South Florida-based bank. In 2023, Professional Bank was acquired by Seacoast, and Iglesias became the market executive for Miami-Dade County. In addition to his executive roles, Iglesias has been an active member of esteemed boards, showcasing his extensive professional network and the respect he commands in the industry. His contributions to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Baptist Health, the Center for Financial Training, Friends of WLRN, the Beacon Council, and the Latin Builders Association underscore his commitment to fostering growth and innovation in healthcare and financial education.

McDaniel, a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and an MBA from Emory University, has held various leadership positions during his tenure in the industry. Most notably, he spent 30 years at BBVA Compass, serving as market president in Auburn, Ala., McAllen, Texas, and Gainesville, Fla. Bringing a strong foundation in commercial banking, finance, treasury management, underwriting, private banking management, and commercial business development, McDaniel is well-equipped to lead SmartBank’s experienced commercial banking teams. His extensive experience includes working with a diverse range of clients, including major corporations, non-profit organizations, and government entities across the Southeast. Beyond his professional endeavors, McDaniel is deeply committed to community service. His affiliations as a board member of the Greater Gainesville Chamber of Commerce, board president of the Education Foundation of Alachua County, board member of International Museum of Art & Science, and previous chairman of Auburn Chamber of Commerce are just a few examples of his passion for the community.
