GET TO KNOW ME
Describe your role for the FBA. As Vice President of Education, I oversee FBA’s education and training programs across a wide variety of banking topics. Favorite thing about the FBA? Having recently relocated to Tallahassee from Orlando and joining the FBA, I appreciate the welcoming team members who all work extremely hard to advocate on behalf of and support the needs of our member banking institutions. What’s something you want to learn? I enjoy learning directly from our members about their specific training needs based upon the ever changing rules and regulations bankers face these days. Having worked within not-for-profit trade associations most of my life, I understand the need for practical, interactive, case study-based education programs. How did you get started in banking? Growing up in our family-owned waterpark, I was trained at a very early age to eventually oversee our revenue and cash control department which
also included daily vault balancing. After moving to Miami, I began my not-for-profit trade association career overseeing international banking education and training programs for FIBA. Over the past four-plus years, I oversaw executive operations at The Institute of Internal Auditors Global Headquarters in Lake Mary. How do you spend your free time? As a non-native Floridian, I enjoy many of the incredible outdoor activities Florida has to offer including kayaking, snorkeling and scuba diving in the ocean, natural springs, rivers and lakes. Florida is truly a unique state! If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? I have been fortunate to have traveled to over 30 countries throughout my career; however, scuba diving in the pristine waters of the Maldives is definitely on my bucket list.
