Driven by Purpose: The People Powering the FBA FBA STAFF SPOTLIGHT
We’re thrilled to introduce a few new team members who are helping to advance the FBA’s work every day, alongside our amazing longtime team members who continue to make a lasting impact. Here’s a little about everyone’s backgrounds, what inspired them to join the FBA, and what they enjoy most about their current roles.
At the Florida Bankers Association, our greatest strength is our people. From education and advocacy to membership and marketing, each member of the FBA team brings unique experience, passion and perspective to our mission of supporting Florida bankers in serving their customers and communities.
ANNIE COLDSTREAM DIRECTOR OF STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS SCHOLARSHIP, JOINED FBA IN MAY 2025
Association work has been the heart of my career, so when the opportunity with FBA came up, it felt like a great return to what I love — with the added bonus of exploring a new part of the country and being closer to my godfather in St. Pete. I enjoy the challenge of seeing things from a fresh perspective and learning something new every day. I started my career in the mailroom and was fortunate to be mentored into roles across many areas of association work — even through Y2K and tech transitions. That experience taught me to stay curious and solve problems, and earned me the nickname “Swiss Army Knife,” which I proudly keep as a reminder on my desk. The past four years I had been working in economic development, but I was really missing the association world! When I saw this position available, and especially when I interviewed and learned more about the role, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to get back in. What I love the most about my role is in my title — I love engaging with our members, getting to know them, and helping them get the most out of their membership. My background in economic development has really shaped the way I approach member engagement. In both fields, it’s all about building relationships, understanding people’s goals, and connecting them with the right resources to help them grow. That experience taught me to look at the bigger picture and think strategically about how our programs and initiatives can create value for members and their communities. The opportunity to work at the FBA arose after three years at the Florida Department of Banking and Finance, and five sessions at the Florida House of Representatives. I saw it as a natural progression to influence the banking laws and the Florida economy. My father was a longtime banker with First Florida Bank in Tampa. He also met my mother working there. Banking has been in my blood my entire life. I enjoy helping our members succeed by enhancing opportunities or reducing roadblocks in the legislative or regulatory arenas. I’ve always enjoyed puzzles and strategy games, and that has helped me work through issues and plan for each legislative session. Also, as a son of bankers, I know that what the FBA does is important for our members, our customers and our communities.
