Sanibel Captiva Community Bank Supports FMB Strong, Sponsors Road Rally

S anibel Captiva Community Bank donated $1,000 to FMB Strong to support its ongoing work helping residents and workers of Fort Myers Beach recover from Hurricanes Ian, Helene and Milton. In addition to serving Fort Myers Beach residents, FMB Strong plays a critical role in supporting the island’s workforce, many of whom continue to face housing, food and resource instability. The bank also sponsored the Friends of Randy of Sanibel’s Fourth of July Road Rally at The Timbers Restaurant & Fish Market on Sanibel. A long standing island tradition in its 45th year, proceeds benefited Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW). Friends of Randy of Sanibel has supported multiple housing providers and shelters on Sanibel Island since 2022. A mbassador Jaime Lacadena, Consul General of Spain in Miami, recently presented the Cross of Officer of the Royal Order of Isabel la Católica to U.S. Century Bank board member Aida Levitan, Ph.D., on behalf of Spanish King Felipe VI. The Officer's Cross of this Order is awarded to individuals who have provided significant service to the nation of Spain. Ambassador Lacadena described Levitan's many activities benefiting Spain, such as directing the Hispanic Heritage Festival, the Seville Fair in Miami in 1994 and 1995, the Spain Fair in Miami in 1997, and other projects. Her doctorate also specialized in Golden Age literature. Levitan serves on the board of U.S. Century Bank, which has $2.7 billion in assets and is one of the largest community banks headquartered in Miami and the state of Florida. She served as chair of the board from 2017 to 2021.
