Angels AMONG US? WHO ARE THE Earlier this year, we launched the Angels Among Us initiative to recognize the great work volunteers do to improve their communities. Here are just a few of our angels’ stories.

Linda “Linda has bought medical equipment for those who could not afford it. She is always the first to help anyone who needs it, no matter what the need is or how much it costs.” Marie “Marie shares her voice at church as a choir member, Chairs the kitting table at our parish Christmas fair and donates the hats, mittens and blankets to the homeless and low-income.” Jerome “Jerome cooks food for the poor and is always giving of his time and talents to his church. He coached basketball for special needs children and volunteered in special school district schools.” Deanna “Deanna serves the poor. She has fostered 30 kids in 48 years. She lives a great faith life and is always giving of herself.” Sydney “Sydney is in high school and has helped out with a number of projects with our local Catholic Financial Life chapter in Waterford since she was nine years old. She has helped build floats, helped with fundraisers and worked at the parish festival.” Janine “Janine has spent long hours working on behalf of her church and community. She organizes an annual soup supper to raise funds for Sister Rose’s Shelter, coordinates several events to raise money for the Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and organizes the cooking for the many meals served at the church for fundraisers.”
