AFTER WINNING IT ALL IN 2022, THE REIGNING CHAMPS WERE IN A PRIME
POSITION TO REPEAT THIS SPRING. UNDER THE DIRECTION OF COACH DEON MINOR, THE EAGLES PICKED UP RIGHT WHERE THEY LEFT OFF TROUNCING THE COMPETITION THROUGH EACH MEET DURING THE REGULAR SEASON. SUBSEQUENTLY, FBCA WOULD CONTINUE TO ADVANCE THROUGH AREA AND REGIONALS, BEFORE BECOMING BACK-TO-BACK TAPPS 5A STATE CHAMPIONS, ONLY THIS TIME BOTH THE GIRLS AND BOYS TEAMS WON. INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONS INCLUDED SOPHOMORE BAYLEIGH MINOR, WHO TOOK GOLD IN THE 200M DASH (24.66), WHILE SETTING NEW STATE RECORDS IN THE TRIPLE JUMP (38-FEET, 3-INCHES) AND THE 400M DASH (55.14). GOLD-MEDALIST BRYAN DOMINO BROKE THE LONG JUMP RECORD (23-FEET, 3.25-INCHES), WHILE STATE RUNNER-UP MATTHEW BROWN SET A NEW SCHOOL RECORD IN THE 100M DASH (10.52). STATE RUNNER-UP IVAN JIMMY-DUCKSWORTH ALSO BROKE A SCHOOL RECORD FOR SHOT PUT (51-FEET, 0.25-INCHES).
