TENNESSEE AQUARIUM AWARD-WINNING FUN

A recently hatched Central American Wood Turtle blinks out at the world from inside a cozy nursery. Just steps away, an American Alligator drifts silently beneath the murky surface of a recreated Delta swamp, its ancient eyes meeting yours in an unforgettable moment. These joyful, ever-changing encounters await around every corner at the Tennessee Aquarium, where each visit is a new discovery. Ranked in the top 10 Best Aquariums in the United States by Newsweek and the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, the Tennessee Aquarium will surely be a memorable stop in your summer adventure. Guests of all ages may “find their joy” through fascinating wildlife experiences, engaging programming and

exhibits that celebrate the wonders of the natural world. In the Penguins’ Rock Gallery, nesting season is in full swing for the Aquarium’s flightless waterfowl with multiple penguin pairs caring for eggs, and excitement is building over the potential for chicks later this summer. Nearby at the 618,000-gallon Secret Reef exhibit, guests may encounter one of the Aquarium’s Diver Chats. Bill the Coho Salmon – a sculpture from the Washed Ashore project – will help draw attention to the plight of plastic waste in our waterways in June and July. Made entirely of discarded plastic collected from beaches, Bill will join another Washed Ashore sculpture, Stella the Seahorse, which is permanently displayed at the Aquarium.
