S ummer is such a great time to visit “The Scenic City”. Chattanooga has so much going on for both visitors and locals this time of year. The city is buzzing with area events and markets, Lookouts Baseball, CFC and RedWolves professional soccer, people out dining along sidewalk patios or on rooftop bars, bicyclists touring the sights, plus all the attractions, museums, shops and galleries bustling with activity. Overlooking Chattanooga, less than six miles from downtown you’ll fin majestic Lookout Mountain, home to some of the area’s most iconic attractions: Rock City, Ruby Falls, and the Incline Railway. All three attractions have seen significan invest ment and wonderful updating to keep up with a more sophisticated traveling public yet will still bring back treasured childhood memories of past family vacations. Follow the mountain south and you’ll fin scenic pull-offs along with miles of beautiful bike and hiking trails preserved by the Lula Lake Land Trust. Chattanooga is surrounded by scenic mountains and ridges, picturesque valleys, the meandering Tennessee River, and her tributaries, as well as the mountains beyond. This landscape provides hundreds of miles of outdoor activities including hiking, biking, climbing, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, whitewater rafting and more. If you’re looking to check off an item or two on your bucket list, add hang gliding, paragliding, or skydiving to your itinerary. All within minutes of Downtown. Chattanooga is really becoming known as a great “foodie” town. The local restau rant landscape is broad with talented, creative chefs crafting amazing menus from every possible cuisine. Whether you are staying in the Downtown, Lookout Mountain, or Hamilton Place areas you are not far from a great dining experience. The Downtown area is compact, vibrant, and easily accessible. It includes several neighborhood districts such as the Northshore, Riverfront, Southside, andWest Village. All are easily accessible by foot, jumping on the free electric shuttle bus or renting a bike. You’ll fin one-of-a-kind boutiques, eclectic galleries and some fun out of the way activities. You will fin world-class attractions like the Tennessee Aquarium, The National Medal of Honor Heritage Center, and the Creative Discovery Museum. There is the relaxing Riverwalk, live music & entertainment venues, and a thriving art scene anchored by The Hunter Museum and the Bluff View Art District.
