HATTIE’S ON HOLMES
Located at the foot of Lookout Mountain, inside the International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum, you will find one of the area’s most well-curated gift shops. Hatties’ on Holmes. The shop is named for Hattie, the wife of Ernest Holmes Sr., inventor of the tow truck. Hattie’s boasts a large variety of items including toys, hand bags, candles, T-shirts, homegoods, and much more.
Chattanooga is known as the birth place of the tow truck thanks to Chat tanooga native, and inventor, Ernest Holmes. In 1916, after a frustrating attempt to pull a friend’s truck out of a ditch, Holmes outfitted a Cadillac with a unique pulley system in his garage. A life-saving industry was born out of Holmes’ invention! So, whether you are looking for a souvenir, birthday gift, or doing some Christmas shopping - Hattie’s can ‘hook you up”. Come visit with Christmas Pete, the tow truck that spreads Christmas cheer every year! Dec. 7 from 4pm - 8pm. Enjoy free admission to the museum along with some holiday treats. Located at 3315 Broad St.
