A s the heat of August dissipates, we begin to feel the cooler mornings, less humidity and the skies begin to change hue to a brighter blue. The perfect backdrop for the coming colors of autumn. With the change in weather comes an increase in outdoor activity for locals and visitors alike. The city and surrounding areas are animated with festivals, markets, and sporting events. The busy outdoor dining options along sidewalk patios or on rooftop bars reverberate with the excitement of college football crowds, and outdoor enthusiasts take to the rivers, trails, roads, and rocks. A trip up Lookout is well worth it this time of year. The views from the mountain at Rock City, Ruby Falls, and the Incline Railway are nothing less than spectacular. Be sure and check out the vistas from Point Park or Sunset Rock as well. Chattanooga has been blessed with a unique topography providing hundreds of miles of outdoor activities including hiking, biking, climbing, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, whitewater rafting and more. Looking for the ultimate view of fall foliage? Try hang gliding, paragliding, or skydiving on this trip. All these activities are an easy drive from anywhere in the city. The Downtown area is walkable from most hotels, or you can jump on the Free Electric Shuttle with stops every few blocks. A bike or e-scooter rental is a great option, too. Check out the trendy neighborhood districts such as the Northshore, Riverfront, the Southside with Main St., and West Village. Each has its’ own character and vibe. You’ll also find world-class attractions like the Tennessee Aquarium, and The National Medal of Honor Heritage Center. There is the relaxing Riverwalk, live music & entertainment venues, and a thriving art scene anchored by The Hunter Museum and the Bluff View Art District. No matter where you start or what your interests are – there is something for you in Chattanooga. Now, get out there and explore! Scan here for more great info at explorechattmagazine.com FREE!
