A Bright Light From the moment I saw her in the laundry room, at Timber Valley Escapees Co-Op in Sutherlin, Oregon, I knew that Kate Bright was part of that tribe. A silver-haired woman sat in a corner, tapping away on her iPhone, when I walked into the Timber Valley Co-Op laundry room, with two weeks of dirty clothing. From the moment I had the privilege of meeting Escapees founders Joe and Kay Peterson back in 2009, I discovered that one of the best parts about this lifestyle is meeting mature RVers who defy stereotypes about aging. T he Petersons were well past their traveling years when I met them at a Livingston Happy Hour, but their spirit of adventure was as strong as ever as they continued encouraging newbies like me to keep our wheels turning.
