J ust one week after the Annual Bash, a caravan of 50 RVs ventured across the border towards Puerto Peñasco, Mexico, affectionately known as Rocky Point, marking the commencement of the Xscapers Mexico Winter Home Base. This 30-day gathering, held at the Concha del Mar Campground, was brilliantly orchestrated for the second consecutive year, by Nicole Hudson #150051. The arrival at the Mexico Winter Home Base was nothing short of awesome. Participants were welcomed with a vibrant beach party and the savory aroma of al pastor tacos freshly prepared and served by a local taco cart. Among the cascade of memorable moments during the month was the “Piña Colada Fundraiser,” a standout event where the sounds of “No One Knows,” a celebrated local rock and roll cover band, set the tone for a day of delicious drinks and dancing. The fundraiser was a heartwarming success, amass ing $2,100 in donations. The generosity of the attend ees was split evenly between two local organizations: Barb’s Dog Rescue and Compassion without Borders, further cementing the Xscapers’ commitment to making a positive impact on the communities they touch. The Xscapers Mexico Winter Home Base was a month fi lled with a variety of events that kept everyone engaged and connected. Activities like the kaftan lot crawl added a fun, light-hearted touch to the social gatherings, while the Super Bowl party at Zay’s Western Bar and Grill catered to the sports enthusiasts of the group. The pirate-themed sunset boat cruise offered a
delightful escape on the water, creating a memorable experience with stunning views. An evening at “El Tapeo” provided an opportunity to enjoy good food and company, featuring a selection of tapas that were a hit among attendees. It was a chance to dress up and unwind in a more re fi ned setting. Community-driven activities like pickleball, yoga and paddleboarding allowed everyone to stay active and try new things at their own pace. Dining out and supporting favorite bands at local bars such as Jillz Joint and Skully’s, gave a taste of the local culture and entertainment scene, adding to the rich tapestry of the month-long stay. Overall, the experience was packed with memorable moments but maintained a balance that allowed for relaxation and personal time. It wasn’t only about the events, it was also about building a community and sharing experiences in a beautiful setting, making the time spent in Puerto Peñasco genuinely enjoyable and memorable. While there might not be an of fi cial Mexico Winter Home Base event on the calendar for next year, the spirit of adventure and community continues at Concha del Mar Campground. In a show of appreciation and support for the Xscapers community, campground owner, Edgar Penuelas and his team have warmly designated February as Xscapers month. They’re extending a generous discount for stays of any dura tion—perfect for those looking to unwind for a night, a week or even the entire month following the conclusion
