alley/party spot. Of course, there will also be the usual socializing, campfires and making new friends. For Memorial Day weekend, Xscapers will have its first caravan trip. Two beautiful locations in New Mexico will provide unique settings with something for everyone. First, we will meet at a remote desert brewery and bask in the tranquil setting of the high desert. As one of America’s oldest settlements, nearby Taos is rich in history, in addition to their great hiking opportunities. We will take advantage of the long weekend and a day off work on Memorial Day to move to our second location, in Santa Fe. Boondocking at the rodeo grounds in town puts us within striking distance of the many wonderful activities in Santa Fe. Inspiring art, amazing architecture, a thriving craft brew scene and delicious food can only be found in New Mexico. Also, on the schedule are walking tours of the town and a visit to Meow Wolf, a fully immersive art installation. There will be several group meals and entertainment. July will take us up to higher elevations and, hopefully, cooler temps. What better place to spend July Fourth this year than high in the cooler climates of the Rocky Mountains. Xscapers will take over the local fair and rodeo ground. Most of us will boondock, but there will be a few power-only sites available. We will enjoy all this small Colorado town has to offer. There will be whitewater rafting, float trips, concerts, a parade, hiking, kayaking and off-road trips. There really is no better place to be for Independence Day. Come, and join us for our upcoming convergences! I’ll see you there.

We’re looking forward to more exciting events planned for upcoming months ahead. (See list and map on page 83.) March takes the Xscapers back for the second year to a favorite destination: Moab, Utah. If you’ve never been to Moab, it is a gorgeous setting surrounded by the plentiful Navajo sandstone of the Colorado Plateau. The area is blessed with an abundance of outdoor activities. Whether it’s hiking, kayaking, climbing, mountain biking or off-road driving, Moab has it all. Returning to our private boondocking location on an airport runway unused since the 1960s, we will line the tarmac with more than 100 RVs and try to exceed the success of last year’s Moab Convergence. As with all Xscapers events, we leave the weekday free to work and we fill the nights and weekends with activities. This year, a full-day off- road trip is planned, as well as hiking in the shadow of the La Sal Mountains and a takeover of a local bowling
