                                              For you true do-it-yourselfers, you’ll probably want more tools, but try not to carry tools for jobs that you wouldn’t attempt while traveling. As an example: If the truck blows an engine, I’m not going to try to pull it and rebuild it on the road; I’ll have a garage do the work, so I don’t need engine rebuilding tools. You get the idea. Next time, we’ll talk about stabilizing and leveling accessories. • An infrared, non-contact thermometer. You can use it to check the temperature of your tires and hubs as you travel, check the brakes on your towed car to make sure they aren’t dragging and make sure your beer is cold enough. • Digital voltmeter. A good one isn’t that expensive, and you can find them in kits with additional testers. The Southwire brand kit (above) has an outlet tester and a voltage detector pen included.

       • Assortment of small pliers and screw- drivers for fine work • Set of Allen wrenches, SAE and metric • Small wire brushes • Hydraulic bottle jack sized to handle the weight of your RV • Small folding shovel • Ladder. Mine is 12V. It’s extremely handy. • Wire crimping tool and an assortment of butt connectors • Tape measure • Small carpenter’s level • Set of combination wrenches, both SAE and metric
