Milly and Mollie were a smart, loving and charming pair of companions in my past. I was pleased to read a book by someone who finds goats as appealing as I do. Leanne left the frantic work world of New York City and found herself creating a rescue sanctuary for special-needs goats. What she learns about life includes the virtues of compassion, patience and the courage to survive in the face of adversity. Her goats are gentle teachers. The heartwarming stories and beautiful photos are worth sharing. Because not all stories about the intrepid members of her tribe end happily, some of the stories might not be suitable for children. But you can be the judge of that, knowing each child’s unique stage of maturity. Or simply read it for yourself and share in the joyful lives of these goat survivors.

Although this book refers to itself as a “beginner’s guide,” and it is, even

experienced RVers will enjoy hearing the story of Xscapers Heath and Alyssa. They began their marriage and the RV life at the same time. Alyssa covers many areas of RVing, from deciding to investigate the lifestyle, to hitting the road. This couple met and shared experiences with many other young RVers and RVing families. This book would be of interest to anyone contemplating RVing with children but felt it would be too difficult. Of course, our first Escapees founding couple, Joe and Kay Peterson, proved that it could work, and that was before the existence of the Internet, cell phones, mail-forwarding services and working remotely. They were an inspiration to all. Alyssa is an outgoing, well-known member of the RVing community. But sharing experiences with Heath and Alyssa doesn’t stop with this book. They have a wonderful website: HeathandAlyssa.com. The website features a large variety of useful information, and they share amusing stories as they travel. There are well-produced videos, podcasts, blogs and the short documentary that was featured on various media outlets. This documentary features their first year of marriage and their first year on the road as they found work to support their travels. With the help of various organizations, they worked over 50 hourly jobs in the first year. The podcasts and blogs are also well worth a visit. Their YouTube.com videos (vlogs) cover travels to Canada, the Florida Keys and traveling in a campervan in New Zealand. Go check them out and look for Heath and Alyssa out on the road. You will enjoy meeting them.
