                                                                                      A watch is issued by the Storm Prediction Center when the atmo- spheric conditions are right for severe weather to occur. This can include severe thunderstorms, flooding or tornadoes. The watch will cover a large area encompassing many counties and perhaps several states. When a warning is issued, it means that you need to act immediately, so it is imperative that you know your location in relation to the warning. Always be prepared with a plan of action. Upon arrival at your destination, remember to check with management, or the local authorities, to find out where to shelter in the case of a weather emergency, especially in areas prone to severe weather. If you do not have a weather radio, you can purchase one online at Amazon.com or at Walmart or most hardware stores. Some RVs are being equipped with a built-in weather radio in the dash radio. For others, the cell phone can be programmed for weather alerts. Severe weather can occur at any time, day or night. Therefore, you need to have a weather radio and, most importantly, it needs to be turned on.

 
