About 100 miles northwest of Davenport, Iowa, outside of Dyersville, is Kevin Costner’s movie site for Field of Dreams . The movie is a tale about an Iowa farmer who has a vision and builds a baseball diamond in his corn ¿ eld. The movie became a favorite of baseball enthusiasts and those folks come to these corn ¿ elds in masses.

Shopping for Insurance is not like comparing apples to apples… All apples are different

Fans bring their baseballs, bats and gloves to play ball. When we arrived at the ¿ eld, about 10 people of different ages were playing a few innings. It was informal with every- one laughing and having good, clean fun. After that group had enjoyed the ¿ eld, a dad put his three-year-old son at home plate and tossed a whif- À eball for him to hit. That little kid swung at everything and hit most of them! We all cheered him on—his dad was so proud. After the ¿ eld cleared off, I ran (or fast-walked) the bases. There is no access to the farm- house, but they have a small gift shop on the grounds. There is RV parking with the buses but no over- night parking allowed. After our visit, we drove the two miles into Dyersville for ice-cream sundaes. We parked our RV about 25 miles away at Walnut Acres Campground (US 151 and SR 38 exit 65) in Mon- ticello, Iowa.
