er, the water pump should be fairly easy to ¿ nd if you do some searching. First, if you turn the pump switch on, does your pump

Microwave Electrical Problem Q. I have a 2011 Challenger mo- torhome by Thor Motor Coach. When we first used the camper,

we boondocked at state parks, and everything worked fine. When elec- trical appliances were needed, we ran the generator. When we stayed in a park with hookups, we plugged in and all appliances worked. The other day,

run at all? If it does, you should be able to track it down by listening for the sound. If your pump is 100 percent dead, then you will

usually be able to locate where it is if you trace the plumbing pipes around inside the trailer. The pump

I cleaned out the floor heating vents and, instead of plugging the RV in for electricity, I turned on the genera- tor to run the vacuum cleaner. The electrical outlets and appliances worked fine with the generator except for the microwave. I plugged the RV back into an electrical outlet, and the microwave worked. I unplugged the RV and start- ed the generator again, and the microwave had no power. Is there anything I can try before I take it in for service? Alden A . The generator will have a pair of circuit breakers on it. Cycle both of them to be sure they are on. There are two circuits coming from the genset through the transfer switch to the main AC breaker panel. The microwave may be on a separate circuit from the other outlets. If both genset break- ers are on, I would suspect either the transfer switch and its associated wiring or the genset itself. Locating the Water Pump Q. I have a 2001 Holiday Rambler 28-ft. Alumalite travel trailer, and I’m trying to locate my water pump. Where can I find information on how to change it? Manny A . Finding manuals for older RVs is problematic. In many cases, the manuals can be found on eBay, but there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to locate one for your rig. Howev-

will normally be mounted somewhere in the inside spaces, like under a couch or bed, or possibly inside a cabinet on a trailer, and usually in a compartment somewhere on a motorhome. The pump should be installed fairly close to the fresh-water tank. In fact, if you can see the low pres- sure À exible hose coming out of the fresh-water tank, the other end will be connected to the pump. Once you locate it, it will be easy to replace. There will be only two pipe ¿ t- tings and two wires (12V). You can ¿ nd several videos on replacing the pump by searching on www.youtube.com . Levelers and Slides Q. We have a 36' class-A motorhome and have recently purchased a camping club lot. We go to the lot and use the motorhome about every other weekend (without moving it, in most cases). Is it better to leave the hydraulic levelers down all the time or start the motorhome every time we come and go in order to reset it. Also, would you recom- mend leaving the slides out or bringing them in each time we leave? Dean and Annely A . I think you’ll be ¿ ne leaving the levelers down, but if the rig sits on the site for months on end without being driven, it is best to give it some exercise every month or Continued ›››
