MAAS, LINDA #42608—FEBRUARY 16, 2024 : (Gary, 7600 US Highway 158, Apt 108., Stokesdale, NC 27357) My bride of 62 years, died of a respiratory illness. Our lives were divided into segments: we grew up, were educated, found employment, got married and raised two boys. In 1992, we decided we needed a change, so the full-time RV life became our next segment. We eventually made it to Livingston, Texas, and joined Escapees. The next 19 years were spent traveling, working, camping and enjoying the RV life. Escapees were an essential part of this segment. Over the years, we camped at every Escapee park and almost every co-op, volunteered at CARE and attended many club functions. We ended this segment enjoying an ERPU site in Livingston, Texas. It became time for another change and our next life segment in 2011. We moved from Livingston to the northeast Georgia mountain area. We hung up our RV keys and picked up keys for a bass boat. We spent much of our time boating and fi shing the northern sections of Lake Lanier and the Chattahoochee River for the next 10 years. In 2021, it became time for another change, so we moved to my current location at a senior living facility in North Carolina for this segment. SCHWARTZ, MELVIN #21447—MARCH 8, 2024 : (Charlene, 26911 S Valley Pride Rd, Pretty Prairie, KS 67570) In 1958, Melvin married Charlene, the love of his life. Melvin and Charlene rode 1,800 miles across the northern United States on a tandem bicycle, sleeping in a tent along the way. Melvin knew no boundaries. In 1991, he purchased a Fifth-wheel trailer and the couple hit the road. They enjoyed the open roads of the US, Mexico and Canada. Melvin will be deeply missed, and we will always remember what a life he lived. We will cherish what he instilled within us daily, pushing us to get outside, go on that trip, see some thing new and maybe even learn something about ourselves we did not know.
