damage, with sections of both piers torn apart by powerful storm surges and waves, causing many rides to collapse into the ocean. Eight months later, with the boardwalk completed, tourists again came to the resort town. In less than a year, a 10-alarm fi re swept from the Funtown Pier northward. The fi re, believed to have originated from under the boardwalk, was stopped when fi re crews tore out the newly replaced board walk at Lincoln Avenue. Visiting Seaside Heights today, you would never guess there had ever been such devastation. Often thought of as a place for young adults to party in the clubs and bars, the town is also an excellent family destination. Casino Pier is an amusement park situated on a pier extending approximately 300 feet into the Atlantic Ocean. The boardwalk stretches for two miles and offers many family-friendly attractions ranging from arcades and games of chance, to restaurants and shop ping opportunities. And of course, there is the beach. I lived in Seaside Heights for fi ve years and enjoyed my time there. My apartment was replaced with a condominium complex, but most of the community looks the same.

Rebuilt twice since I last visited, even the boardwalk looks the same because many of my old haunts are in the same places. Seaside Heights is a fun destination for anyone wanting to leave their troubles behind, enjoy the sea air, take a swim and try their luck at a game of chance. I can highly recommend this destination.
