Final Journeys Farewell to our Escapees Friends The Escapees RV Club expresses sincere condolences to the families and friends of deceased members. CALLISON, PATRICIA ANN#42229–APRIL 17, 2020: (John May fi eld, 2005 Wich ita Dr., Crossville, TN 38572) Patricia died from Parkinson's disease. John is asking for donations to go to the Michael J Fox Foundation as a memorial. DEMOSS, VADA #1295–AUGUST 9, 2022: Vada, age 96, died from cancer. She lived life to the fullest and had friends worldwide, too many to count, but all treasured. She always said there weren't strangers—they were just friends she hadn't met yet. (Reported by daughter Jan Byram.) HAYES, RICHARD #37136–AUGUST 14, 2022: (Dorothy, 220 Rainbow Dr. #12017, Livingston, TX 77399-2020) We joined Escapees in 1994, and Richard was a member of the Prospecting and Metal Detecting BoF for many years. LAFFEY, JOHN #72511–OCTOBER 28, 2022: (Anita, 4035 Bentwood Dr., Dick inson, TX 77539-8333) John and I were Escapees for many years. John died of Lewy Body Dementia, in League City, Texas.

Neil W and Patricia A Lekander #54622 at the 53rd Escapade in Gillette, Wyoming. LEKANDER, NEIL WILLIAM #54622–OCTOBER 23, 2022 : Neil passed away in Smith River, CA, at age 82. After high school, he obtained both his A&P and pilot’s licenses at Northrup Institute of Technology. Eventually, he attended Kent State University where he received his Aerospace Engineer ing Degree. Lifetime members of the Escapees, Neil and his wife, Patricia, bought their fi rst motorhome in 1974 and they’ve had one ever since. Neil is the author of The RVER’S Ultimate Survival Guide, about how to live and travel safely in an RV. He also helped develop the Escapees SmartWeigh program and the Escapees RVers Boot Camp and, he thoroughly enjoyed being a seminar speaker at RV rallies. Neil’s family and the community were very important to him, and he and Patricia have kept in contact with many friends from living and RVing, in different parts of the country.
