Post Oak Hotel, Penthouse Suite HOUSTON, USA The Post Oak’s billionaire owner Tilman Fertitta apparently oversaw every detail of the 38-story tower; the multimillion dollar artworks on display included pieces from Fertitta’s own collection. The suite has (deep breath): a private elevator, four bedrooms, fi ve bathrooms, custom walk-in closets, full kitchen, gym, dining room, fi replace, huge terrace with a heated swimming pool, hot tub and outdoor kitchen. It even has a half-court basketball court and a bowling alley because, why not? Guests of the suite also receive extras such as monogrammed robes and pillowcase, and roundtrip helicopter transport (the hotel has a helipad where guests of the penthouse can also practice their downward dog with a sunrise or sunset yoga session). Capella Ubud, The Lodge BALI

Hidden away in Bali’s luscious rain forests, Capella Ubud is a gloriously playful take on a 19th-century expedition (the vision of designer Bill Bensley, whose mantra ‘the odder, the better’ certainly applies to this resort). The hotel is an uber-luxe take on camping and is made up of 22 one bedroom tents and the two-bedroom lodge. The Lodge has the best views of the Keliki Valley, best enjoyed from the large wooden terrace that protrudes out into the forest. The suite has a decidedly indoor/outdoor setup; the heated indoor pool fl ows to the outside and the living area follows suit. There’s two bathrooms, one with a Japanese tub and one with a hand-hammered copper tub. Guests of The Lodge have access to a whole host of complimentary extras, from activities with the camp rangers to a photoshoot. From $2,500 per night.
