Hotel Bel-Air, Presidential Suite LOS ANGELES, USA Since opening in 1946, Hotel Bel-Air has been a private escape for Hollywood’s celebrities, filmmakers and movie stars. Part of the Dorchester Collection, the hotel is tucked away in the hills of Bel Air and features seven Signature Suites. One of the finest is the classic-yet-modern Presidential Suite, a 2,265-sq-ft suite that draws its design inspiration from Hotel Bel Air’s glamorous roots. California sunshine streams through the tall windows into the suite, but if that’s not enough, lounge in the attractive Spanish-inspired courtyard, complete with a full-sized swimming pool. Fairmont San Francisco, Penthouse SAN FRANCISCO, USA Standing atop Nob Hill, Fairmont San Francisco is housed within a stately landmark building. It is steeped in history: The UN Charter was conceived in the Garden Room (marked today with a plaque); it was the first US hotel to employ a concierge; and it’s where Tony Bennet first sang I Left My Heart in San Francisco. The Penthouse Suite, much like the hotel, nods to its past; there is an antique map from 1927 on the walls. The suite occupies the entire eighth floor, spanning a huge 6,000 sq ft. It has three bedrooms, four marble bathrooms, living roomwith a fireplace, dining room, billiards room, plus an outside terrace with mosaics, water feature and views over the city and bay.
