The Luminaire is a travel operator that creates personalized journeys with a twist — each one has been curated (or in some cases, accompanied by) an expert mind in that particular fi eld.The journeys are built around guests’ interests, and many have an educational and creative ethos. The company has recently announced a collaboration with Magnum Photos, the iconic photography cooperative that has been capturing major historic and cultural events since the 1930s. The partnership between The Luminaire and Magnum gives guests the opportunity to travel with some of Magnum’s leading photographers. Join award-winning contemporary photographer Jonas Bendiksen in his native Norway; you’ll sail into the isolated wilderness of Norway’s far north, beyond the Arctic Circle, to photograph the spellbinding region. You’ll be on board a polar-equipped expedition vessel to navigate fjords and archipelagos, keeping an eye out for orcas and humpback whales, and you’ll explore fi shing villages and coastal communities (Bendiksen’s work hones in on the themes of community and identity). There will be several hands-on photography workshops that cover storytelling techniques and editing best practices. $14,215 per person for 7 days.
