With the threat of Covid-19 still on everyone’s minds and the activities of commercial airlines severely curtailed, private aviation is now by far the safest and most convenient way to travel. The exclusive and insulated nature of a private jet keeps the risks of contagion to a minimum— far less than even first class on board an airliner — while using smaller airports avoids the possibility of infection in crowded terminals. Leading the industry’s response to the challenges of this pandemic, TAG Aviation has come up with a series of initiatives to ensure its clients can keep flying — and do so in maximum safety. Before any flight is scheduled, a detailed Covid risk assessment is carried out, and checks are made on any entry bans or quarantine measures required. All crew and passengers have to provide health and travel declarations, and TAG staff plan passenger movements throughout every airport to ensure the least contact and lowest exposure for everyone. When all other possibilities had been exhausted, an avid sailor who had contracted Covid in Menorca was repatriated to Switzerland in a private medical aircraft that had been specially equipped with an isolation chamber. Meanwhile, against the odds, the TAG team managed to bring an Italian back from Russia in time to see his wife give birth, and an American family made it home from Lisbon with their small dog when all other flights had been cancelled.
