Forget delicate, barely there links — chunky chains are having a renaissance. With a chain reaction (sorry) of game-changing contemporary jewelers putting a modern twist on the perennial golden chain, mastering the art of layering with stackable statement pieces has never been easier. For heft, head to Paris-based designer Lauren Rubinski, whose fully loaded pieces lend edge and polish to both feminine dresses and luxe sweats alike. Elsewhere, London-based Jessica McCormack’s Livewire collection pays homage to the structures seen at fairs and carnivals, from the giant slide to roller coaster rides, for a playful twist on the classic gold chain. Of course, you needn’t stick to just chain necklaces. Endlessly stylish, the allure of a gold chain has transcended into rings, bracelets and earrings, too. The famous interlocking necklaces from Tiffany & Co have been transformed into linking bracelets, while classic chunky chokers from Bottega Veneta have been remixed to form chic chunky chain earrings.
