HYT H4 NERO HONORABLE MENTION

ROGER DUBUIS EXCALIBUR SPIDER PIRELLI AUTOMATIC SKELETON

Not your typical skeleton watch, HYT is no ordinary timepiece. HYT’s hydromechanical horologists deftly blend mechanics and liquid within a wristwatch, wherein liquid that runs through a capillary powered by bellows indicates the time. On the HYT H4 Nero, the hours are indicated via a traditional hand at 12 o’clock, but to read the minutes, one must push a button and watch the liquid (green in this version) move around the rim of the dial to indicate the time. Additionally, H4 Nero is equipped with a light source under the dome: two purple LEDs that, when activated, flood the dial with fluorescent light. The fully mechanical watch has no batteries or electronics for this flood of light. The watch is open-worked to show the two multi-layer bellows that push the fluid through the capillaries. Just 15 pieces will be made. $95,000 Where to buy Cellini in New York, contact Leon Adams, owner, info@ cellinijewelers.com, +1 212 888 0505, hytwatches.com

FRANCK MULLER VANGUARD GRAVITY SKELETON

As a result of an exclusive partnership with Pirelli, Roger Dubuis unveils the Excalibur Spider Pirelli Automatic Skeleton, with a strap that features rubber inlays from certified Pirelli winning tires that competed in actual races. Crafted in black DLC titanium, this 45mm watch is intricately worked, with a skeletonized movement consisting of 167 individual components and a micro-rotor highly visible through the sapphire crystal and case back. The watch is accented with a blue-and-black dial ring in Pirelli colors and the black rubber strap has a tread motif of a Pirelli Cinturato™ tire. It carries the Geneva Seal. The watch is one of a trilogy (there are also blue and red versions) and has the Hallmark of Geneva Seal. $66,500 Where to buy Roger Dubuis in New York, contact Marko Obrenovic, boutique manager, +1 212 651 3773, rogerdubuis.com

DE GRISOGONO RETRO TOURBILLON SKELETON

Crafted in black titanium, this Franck Muller Gravity watch offers cutting- edge technology. The highly visible movement features bridges with concave and convex shapes, offering an exclusive and trademarked design. The bridges and the pillars of a traditional tourbillon have been turned into an elliptical circle with a 21.2mm diameter, giving the timepiece a three-dimensional aspect. The bridges and the plate have been entirely skeletonized with the aim of emphasizing the volume of its massive mechanism. The caliber is placed between two sapphire crystals. $130,000 Where to buy Available by special order only, contact Arda Matatyan, +1 212 463 8898, franckmuller.com

A stunning watch, the new Art Deco-inspired De Grisogono Retro Tourbillon Skeleton with sapphire caseback and crystal offers a panoramic view of the elaborate movement. With an unusual horizontal format, the hand-wound caliber DG31.88 showcases the open-worked barrel, the gear train and tourbillon. The parts appear to be suspended in air between the geometrically shaped bridges.
