The Raj Palace, Maharaja’s Pavilion JAIPUR, INDIA Covering 16,000 sq ft over four floors and with a private elevator connecting each floor, the Maharaja’s Pavilion is, naturally, fit for a king. On the first floor there is an entrance lounge and lobby, plus a larger lounge with a bar. The second floor houses the four bedrooms and overlooks the inner courts of the palaces and Charbagh gardens, and has a striking double-height reception room. It was used as a sleeping chamber for Indian prince Thakur Sahib so the decor is suitably regal: gold-leaf painted walls and antique furniture. The third floor has a library, bar and dining area, while the fourth floor has a private swimming pool, Jacuzzi, bar, dining area and separate butler entrance. The panoramic views across the city are simply spectacular. Samantha Coles Best feature In-suite private museumwith the old Throne and Bolsters of the Thakur Sahib From $18,000 per night.
