In our second annual Top 50 Watches feature, we outline 2018’s best introductions from both large and small watch brands. Each year in the watch world is a new adventure, as brands unveil timepieces they have worked on for years — some of the most innovative can take up to 10 years to develop. These watches would not have been possible without some of today’s most cutting-edge technology including nanotechnology, micro-engineering, 3D printing and, most importantly, the inventive minds of the world’s most passionate watchmakers. To make our list, each watch must retail for at least $10,000, not have been previously published in Elite Traveler and be a new release. While 2018 was a time of great change in the watch industry, including a drive towards affordable timepieces, we feel our selection represents the best watches of the year in a host of important categories.
