Sacher Hotel No trip to Vienna is complete without a stop for coffee and Sachertorte at the café of the Sacher Hotel (center right). It’s a classic and cozy time capsule of old Vienna that has remained a charming refuge despite the almost constant onslaught of iPhone-obsessed tourists.

Museum of Military History Another Viennese museum gem, the Museum of Military History (bottom right) documents the history of Austrian military affairs through exhibits comprising armour, airplanes, uniforms, paintings, medals, photographs and model battleships from when Austria had it’s own navy.

Johann Strauss II in Stadtpark (top right), on the left bank of the Wien River, the park was opened in 1862.
