Tel Aviv 6 Photographer Sivan Askayo Photographer Sivan Askayo grew up in Tel Aviv and recently moved back following a stint in New York, partly because she got hungry. “I love the food scene – it’s so fresh and diverse,” she says. So shooting the restaurants and hot spots of her town for Elite Traveler was a dream job. See where Askayo, who also shoots for Elle Decor , Monocle and Travel + Leisure, hangs out on page 123.

Journalist Nick Walton New Zealand-born Nick Walton is the travel editor of the South China Morning Post . When not camping in Antarctica or dancing at the Vienna Opera, he can be found exploring the markets and country parks of his adopted home city, Hong Kong. He had the enviable task of testing that city’s top suites for our regular top suites feature on page 128.

Journalist and stylist Laurie Brookins has interviewed many of the top names in fashion design; Karl Lagerfeld, Jean Paul Gaultier, Alexander McQueen and Miuccia Prada, to name but a few. Her understanding of the artistic sensibilities and craft that drive the fashion industry informs her feature on art as fashion on page 98.

As associate editor of The Times , British foreign correspondent Martin Fletcher has reported from Syria, Iraq and Somalia. For Elite Traveler he ventured into the untamed heart of Africa, discovering an untouched wilderness – and an experience of a lifetime – in the Democratic Republic of Congo, on page 92.

Born in the US but now living in Berlin, Williams now considers herself a bona fide German. She writes about the city for the New York Times and Travel + Leisure and picks its most happening hang-outs and coolest

Osborne has written about her passion for two-wheeled transport for Peloton Magazine , Cyclist Magazine and The Guardian so her attempt at Mont Ventoux, with just a bit of help from luxe bike outfit Rapha (page 88), posed little problem. “I still beat all the men in the group to the top,” she says of her challenge to conquer one of the Tour de France’s most iconic climbs.
