This beautiful 600,000 acre ranch, founded by billionaire philanthropist Madeleine Pickens, has saved more than 600 mustang horses from slaughter – and offers Wild West glamping with fine dining in tipis. The ranch, near the small town of Wells, is the only one in the US where you can see wild mustangs ranging free. Standout service Rodeo champion Clay Nannini takes experienced riders among the herds of wild horses in the Goshute Valley before leading them up the mountains for a private gourmet picnic. A former US Navy Seal can take guests in a Maverick 4x4 across the Nevada plains and over Spruce Mountain. Special amenities It’s now possible to sleep on the Californian Trail that winds its way through Mustang Monument’s three mountain ranges. Pioneer wagons have been sumptuously refurbished so guests can look forward to a gourmet dinner cooked fireside, stargazing, plus Native American story telling and music. Number of rooms The 10 individually created, hand-painted tipis, with private bathroom cabins and shaded areas with hammocks and garden sofas, pip the 10 en-suite cottages to the post.
