INSOUCIANT SUITS Take the flare pant from the 1970s, oversized suiting from the 1980s, add a touch of androgyny and you'll find today’s relaxed silhouette. As office dress codes continue to loosen up, the relaxed trouser finds a place in a man’s weekday wardrobe. One of the originators of the 1980s power suit, Giorgio Armani, presented modern loose tailoring in shades of classic blues. For his final collection at Ermenegildo Zegna Couture, Stefano Pilati introduced

elements of women’s couture; jacquards, beading and embroidery. The collection, though, was thoroughly masculine and luxurious. In the pictured look, fabrics generally reserved for formalwear are embraced for day. Separates in rich materials, worn with a sweater or a tee shirt, are meant for today’s dandies. At Bottega Veneta, Tomas Maier included long, loose trousers with nearly every look. Worn with oversized coats in deep colors, there’s something for every man.
