Right on the waterfront at Great Cruz Bay, set among swaying palm trees, A La Mer’s main villa has seven bedrooms, a dining table for 14 guests, a custom-made kitchen with cypress ceilings, mahogany cabinetry carved in Honduras, and botanical art prints. There’s also a family television room with French doors that open out to the shaded poolside terrace and what is possibly one of the biggest private pools on St John, with a swim-up bar on one side and a strip of white sand resembling a beach on the other. The deck is lined with loungers, plus there’s a ping pong table and a stone fire pit. A La Mer’s Cottage, off to the side of the main villa, has two additional bedrooms.
