Don't dismiss Singapore as just a stopover city. Everyone thinks they know the deal here – the extraordinarily clean city, home to Orchard Road megamall (an homage to Paris’ Champs-Élysées) – but underneath the firm stance against chewing gum is a city emerging from its cocoon while maintaining its rich heritage and multicultural legacy.
