With a deep love for community, a passion for local and a vision for the future, Charlotte and Mike Edwardson and Karalyn and Dan Schue tze are thrilled to call themselves the new own ers of Deep Cove Market in North Saanich. “We are two families who have a heart for com munity and collaboration,” explains Charlotte. “We work, play and live on the Saanich Penin sula and have been customers and huge fans of Deep Cove Market, and we are so honoured to now be the new owners.” Deep Cove Market is in the agricultural com munity of North Saanich, giving them access to a plethora of locally grown food, includ ing farm fresh fruit, veggies, eggs, local meat, baked goods and artisan products. And their full-service Market Cafe is a favourite with the locals. “We are all excited about nding ways to cre ate opportunities for community to gather. We want to host local bakers’ events, themed mar kets, arts and craft shows, wreath making and even open mic nights or evenings where we fea ture a local band or musician,” says Charlotte. After 18 years, Rosemary Scott is honoured to pass the torch to the new owners. “I look for ward to seeing them nurture what I have start
ed and add a fresh vision and energy to it,” says Rosemary. e Market is proud to be a family owned and operated business, and the new owners love how excited their daughters are about helping them achieve their vision. “Our kids light up when they come to the market, and they enjoy helping,” says Charlotte. “We are so honoured that the team Rosemary built here is staying and helping us learn the ropes.” Both families love the “foodie lifestyle,” and are amazed at all the unique artisan products, farm produce and local arts and crafts that Rose mary has sourced. “It’s unlike anything on the Island,” adds Mike. “We want to honour her legacy and continue to add new products and our own avour and spin, while listening to the community to discover what they want to see more of in the store.” “We love working in a team, and getting to know the sta has been so engaging and fun,” Charlotte says. “We also have enjoyed getting to know the locals who come in every day. ere are a lot of challenges that come when you invest in a new business, but they are so worth it because the community is so great.”
