The Flamingo Lounge was one of a handful of restaurants highlighted in Collier’s magazine for a new dish they were serving called “pizza pie.” This photo from the article shows Bruno Itin, a Swedish immigrant who worked at the Flamingo and then opened his own pizza places, including one still in business in Lafayette, Indiana, and several that carry his name in South Bend.
