HOLLAND CIVIC CENTER PLACE

Emily Branca

Anchoring the west end of downtown Holland’s vibrant shopping, dining and residential district, the Holland Civic Center Place is the heart and soul of the community. Located on the former site of the Cappon + Bertsch Leather Company, the Holland Civic Center was dedicated in 1954 as an all-purpose community center. The building has hosted sporting events, trade shows, plays and concerts for over six decades. Now under the skilled management team of VenuWorks, today’s Holland Civic Center Place is a striking state-of-the art 55,000 square foot multipurpose facility, thoughtfully designed for a variety of functions and activities. With its own kitchen and full liquor license, the center is able to accommodate food and beverages for both large and small gatherings.

Attendees can get up-close and personal with nationally recognized entertainers and sports teams in the 1850-seat arena. Additionally, the Great Hall, Community Atrium and market side rooms can host gatherings of 12 to 500 guests. Whether seeking a spot for a corporate meeting, Quinceañera, craft fair, wedding or family reunion, a distinctive space is available inside this event venue. Outside, the center shares the cobblestone Eighth Street Marketplace with the Holland Farmers Market and the popular Kerstmarkt, (Dutch for “Christmas Market”), a Holland holiday tradition for 25 years. This fresh air site also is available for live entertainment and local events.
