Discover Holland Michigan 2022 Visitors Guide

Hollanders believe winter gets a bad rap . In fact, many consider the chilly season from December until March to be their favorite time of year. Our area’s natural beauty is stunning during the winter months . Lake effect snow and glittering ice crystals can make an outdoor expedition not just a way to keep fit, but a way to be inspired. Cross-country ski along the top of dunes for a breathtaking view of Lake Michigan and its frosted winter beaches. Snowshoe through hemlocks, stand-up paddleboard through craggily ice

formations, or whiz down an illuminated sledding hill. A mid-winter thaw doesn’t stop the fun – there’s still hiking and fat-tire biking, which is outstanding in any season. When it's time to take a break from the elements , head downtown (or start there, if you prefer to get your exercise winding through shops rather than snow hills). Our heated streets and cobblestone sidewalks make hopping from a boutique to a fair-trade shop to an outdoor specialty store a slip-free adventure. Ready to relax? Cozy up to a patio heater at one of our outdoor beer gardens and toast to a day well done.
