Discover Holland Michigan 2022 Visitors Guide

If you’re looking for a beautiful spring destination, think Tulip Time in Holland, Michigan!

FRESH BLOOMS:

The festival began in 1929 when the City of Holland saw its first crop of 100,000 tulips bloom. Since then, Holland has blossomed each spring with millions of tulips. Celebrating our 93rd year in 2022, Tulip Time has grown over the decades to be so much more than a flower festival. Today the splendor continues, with fun events and activities for all ages. Tulip Time parades are some of the largest and most spectacular events in Michigan. Thousands of spectators line the streets to watch amazing floats, marching bands and Dutch Dancers in over two miles of pure celebration. Throughout the week, Dutch Dancers also perform throughout our bloomingdowntown, high-kicking their wooden shoes through traditional folkdances. Beyond the beautiful, this special week offers a great variety of national and local entertainment, a carnival, fireworks and much more. We invite you to experience our award-winning festival. Tulip Time was named Best Flower Festival by USA Today , was included in the Fodor’s Travel list of America’s Best Spring Flower Festivals, and was awarded Tulip Festival of the Year by the World Tulip Summit. Tulip Time is truly an experience you don’t want to miss!

For the 2022 Tulip Time Festival, Holland will be welcoming two international exhibits never seen before in the U.S.:

TULIP IMMERSION GARDEN: THE JOURNEY OF THE TULIP World renowned Dutch horticulturist, Ibo Gülsen, will create a week long immersion experience, taking travelers through the historic journey of the tulip f rom Turkey, to the Netherlands, to Holland, Michigan. Gülsen will elevate 50,000 tulips of 36 varieties and all colors to eye-level, offering a unique sensory delight and once-in-a lifetime, Instagrammable photo-op. ZEELAND GIRL: BEYOND TRADITION Zeeuws Meisje (Zeeland Girl), is a collaborative project between Dutch photographer, Rem van den Bosch, and the dressmakers he enlisted to recreate traditional dresses with a modern spin. The spirit of current-day Zeeland is captured in towering, 10-foot tall photographic displays standing side-by-side with 25 of the dresses used in the series. Located in the historic Holland Armory, this f resh comment on the need for mutual respect, solidarity and care for the environment is a must-see.
