Desert Mirage HS 2020

Snap, tweet, post it! Gen Z always connected faster than you can say "cheese!" But Gen Z is not only about social media connections it is also about cultural and familial connections. Thus, the Yearbook class of 2019-2020 wanted to create a book that would illustrate the connection and unity . Yearbook members captured momemts that will allow us remember our high school years as if it were just yesterady. We knew that throughout time, those memories that students created with their friends would fade little by little. For instance the times our friends helped us through tough times, days we had tests and recieved our final grades. We wanted to create a book that not only we could all relate , but was reflective of our generation; always connected. From the similar phobias, cultural traditions, teachers, family, favorite social sites and conspiracy theories we came up with or agreed on. Moreover, we wanted to show how we could all work togerher as a class to win the Ram spirit stick in the pep rallies.

As Yearbook Equipment manager, Jose Martinez said "Because on every page there are people that demonstrated relativity creating memories that might not stick for long after we leave high school, but will be made into history in our yearbook. Accompaning the sunlight were the delicious donuts, seniro Mariso Flores says, she was extreamly satisfied with the donuts because she woke up early to enjoy the sunrise but the donuts made the experience perfect becaus it made her happy. " B eing with my friends made me realize that im finaly a senior !" As the new school year begings seniors want to have everlasting highschool memorys and the sunrise was the perfect way to achieve this. Senior Gabriela Barrozo says, I t connected." The editors, Stephanie Campos, Christian Cesena-Galarza and Jocelynne Garcia did not want just an ordinary book, they want d a book t at sh wed unity and inclusivity in our com unity as Ch stian said" W worked hard to put the book tog ther, we had two go l one was to demonstrate how DM Gen Z is un ted and t e other was to give the seniors a imeline f their lives that will never be forgotten."
