Performers

Hit the Beat

All the dedication it took to be in Ame, DM Prods, and Dance was stressful because It took time to train, plan, and execute the plan in a short deadline. The demand that the instructors had on the students got really heavy and quite scary at times. Many times performers were nervous having all eyes on them judging their every move, and a lot of mistakes could have lead them to a bad performance. The dancers for Ms. Pavia made sure to have all their uniforms the same, as well as practicing so that they could all be coordinated during their performances. They spent all of their time practicing and perfecting their dance, but they also needed to balance out their time to not fall behind so that they could maintain their place in the dance team. As well, drama students made it seem like going on stage was easy, but there was a lot that happened on backstage. Just like the dancers, drama students need to balance their time to go practice throughout the week, including the weekend, because they too had to maintain their student life healthy and not fall behind.

Not only did they have to practice, recite their lines, make their movements go with their tone, attitude, and speech, but they also had to create the set that was seen. We as the audience did not always see the effort that went into creating the set and the mood that bounced off it. Drama students needed to have everything timed because if they did not then they would slow down the play and the entire show could have fallen behind with the possibility of risking the entire play. DM Prods on the other hand; had time between them and their deadline, unlike dance and drama they did not have to perform on stage but instead they had a camera in front of their face recording everything they did and said so they needed to be careful with what they said. They needed to go out and take interviews from the students before their deadlines and after everyone got their parts for the videos they started editing their videos to be put into the final product. All these programs needed to work together for the final show to be as perfect as they could, especially since they where seen by the entire school one way or another. The dedication and effort that went into all of these programs was with the purpose of bringing the school together as a whole and so they did. Story By, Jose Antonio Martinez.
