Powering ABS As of March 1998, all trucks and trailers were required by government law to be equipped with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). Through the Maintenance Council, the trucking industry developed recommended voltage requirements for ABS, which includes an 8 gauge ground, 10 gauge stop light and auxiliary wire. The lime green cable above meets these specifications which ensures constant power to your anti-lock braking system. While not mandated, the green jacket allows for easy identification. ABS cable that meets the mandated requirements is also offered in black.
